Crazy Lady - Bad Bikers
:: Thursday, May 8th 2008
Okay, usually when I complain about my commute to work on my bike... I'm usually angry or disappointed with drivers. Today is a different story.
I pulled up to a corner behind a woman on a bike, she seemed a bit squirmish.
"I am always worried some car is going to come up and hit me from behind." She says.
-"Yeah, that wouldn't be good"
"They are always trying to crowd me!"
-"Heh"
"My worst fear is that one day all the idiot drivers will be on the road."
-"Yeah, wouldn't be good"
"People think gas will get cheaper, it's not going to!"
-"Yup, its expensive."
By then I was getting annoyed... Liars was on my ipod and i wanted to listen to it. I was saved when the light turned green.
Low and behold she was turning left, without signaling, and cutting off a car coming toward us who had the right of way.
Idiot drivers indeed.
On a side note, not two blocks later a kid on a bike cut off a F-250 pulling a trailer who had the right of way because the kid didn't stop at a stop sign.
No wonder bikers have a bad name... and why I get honked and yelled at for no reason... they probably just got cut off by someone else.

Relaxing, going to the beach, walking the historic downtown, and boiling a lobster for supper. We will see how that goes :)

We made it to the cape.
:: Thursday, April 24th 2008
After the marathon we finished off the freedom trail by hiking up the 294 steps to the top of the Bunker Hill Monument. We also drank some beer at Jacob Wirth, the second oldest bar in America (we skipped the oldest). Mandy finished off the night by dancing.
Tuesday we took the T to Fenway Park and toured it... As much as the Red Sox don't seem the same as they used to I've always wanted to go and see the park, but don't worry I'm still a Twins fan (Go Twins!)
After that tour we took the T to the Sam Adams Brewery and tasted some mighty fine brew (I really suggest it). It's just like brewing at home times 1000. As much as I remember Coors (I was 5) this was nothing like it... Coors was khakis labcoats and testtubes, this was plaid shorts beards and steins.
After that we had supper and visited with Jen.
Oh, on a side note I found out more about our hotel, after it lived its life for the military and before the neighborhood became gentrified it could be rented out by the half hour... Boy that neihborhood changed!
Well, yesterday we drove down to Cape Cod and stopped off in Plymouth, MA. We didn't see the rock because the thing that housed it was under construction, but we did see the Mayflower II and had some fish and chips. Afterwards, we made it to Hyannis. Since then we have walked, took a jog and played some rousing games of Scrabble.
It has been very relaxing.

We made it back to the hotel and Mandy is doing great. When asked for comment she said, "Troy and Jen rule". Yes we do Mandy, yes we do.
